A Z M Umar Faruque Siddiki is a faculty of the Department of Maritime Law and Policy at BSMRMU. Before joining BSMRMU, Mr. Siddiki taught personal laws and business laws at the Department of Law, EWU as a Lecturer. He has completed his LL.M in International Law and LL.B (Hon's) from the Department of Law & Justice, Jahangirnagar University with the highest CGPA of his class in both instances. Mr. Siddiki had also served as the Secretary, the highest organizing position for a law student, of the mooting and debating club of Jahangirnagar University Law Society (JULS). During his journey in the law family, he has contributed as a researcher to numerous Moot Court Competitions at home and abroad including the DUMCS-TIB Anti-Corruption Moot Court Competition, 7th Prof VS Mani Memorial International Law Moot Court Competition (held at Jaipur National University, India), and 3rd Bangladesh Round of Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition. As a young researcher, he has the interest to excel with his research in International law, particularly in Post-colonial statehood and the self-determination of minorities.
